Team Accomplishments

March 15-16th: HS Elite team finished 4-0 this past weekend in District Heights, Maryland.  They won their pool by playing up in the 10th grade division.  It was their first tournament as a team! 


March 22-23: HS team went 4-0 this weekend in the Charm City Championship tournament in Baltimore, MD.  They beat the Maryland Hurricanes 61-25 in the final game.  Great effort by all the girls! 


April 5-6: HS team competed in the BSA Spring Invitational in Pittsburgh, PA.  After losing the first game, they went 3-0 rest of the way and win the Championship!  They were able to avenge their loss and beat the BSA 11th team 40-29!  They finished 3-1 overall!  


April 12-13: The HS team played this weekend in the Jefferson Spring Tournament in West Virginia.  They played two years up in the 11th grade division.  After winning the first game, they lost two tough games in which they had the lead in.  Playing with 7-8 girls most of the weekend, the girls gained valuable experience.  The girls finished 1-2 overall in the 11th grade division.

 

April 25-27: The team competed in the Spring Southern Classic USJN event in Greensboro, NC this past weekend.  They played well and made it to the semi-finals before losing to the 10th grade Team Slink.  They ended up playing for 3rd place against the GA Sparks 2016 team.  After being tied at half, they made a few mental mistakes losing 54-46 to finish in 5th place in the event. There was 32 teams in the event including two brackets, which the team played in the higher division.  


May 3-4: The HS Elite Team went 2-1 this weekend playing up in grade.  They lost a close game after being up by 12 points.  After one injured player and two others fouled out, they couldnt pull it out at the end.  They played tough but will learn from their mistakes.  Keep up the good work! 


May-17-18: They played in the Under Armour Southern Regional Championships in Richmond, Va.  The girls finished 3-1 and avenged their only loss in the championship playing up in the 10th grade division!  Great job girls! 


May 31st-June 1st: Girls did a one day run at Hayfield Secondary school for the Tiger Tournament. They went 2-0, beating the Lady Lions 61-14 and the Loudoun Triple Threat 11th 64-44!  It was good to see every player involved and playing at a high level!  

June 7-8:  Played this weekend in the Va Hokies Slam City Tournament in Manassas, Va.  They went a perfect 4-0 to claim the tournament championship! 


June 14-15: Played in the ND Elite 64 Showcase in Hampton, Va.  They started out well with a 3-0 and 1st place out of their pool.  But lost a tough game to the Red Vipers after going back and forth through out the game.
